Building Consulting Businesses Since 1983
Our founder started his first consulting practice in 1983 while still employed by the government (don't worry; there was no conflict of interest and I didn't consult on the taxpayers dime!). Soon thereafter, with his enthusiasm for consulting growing, he joined a large technical consulting firm that was owned by a Fortune 500 company. In this capacity, he learned both the business of consulting and performing work well, but also the need to constantly innovate and build new business. He quickly became the Marketing Director of a $20 million a year division providing engineering, operations and technical services to utilities and industry. From that point forward, business and practice development has been his professional focus, and subsequent positions have included:
Practice Leader for a multi-million dollar consulting practice.
Member of a management team that developed a new management and information systems business.
VP of Business Development and Professional Services for a unit of a major University.
Founder of an E-Learning company which was subsequently sold to a Fortune 40 insurance company.
Founder of his own consulting firm that has provided business development services to consulting and professional services firms, training companies, manufacturers, and resellers.
What drives us most is a passionate commitment to helping Practice Leaders overcome their fear/reluctance to sales and marketing and achieve all of their business development goals.
Strengths we bring to our clients beyond experience are continuous learning, creativity and innovation, and keen listening skills. I adapt principals and methods to fit each client's needs. We take the best of the old and apply them in efficient and innovative ways to new circumstances and situations. We strive to make the complex simple.
We want to share knowledge and get clients comfortable in applying it in their own way, rather than doing the work for them.
We know this is a business, but we want to have fun in each engagement. By fun, we mean seriously and aggressively pursuing our goals while employing methods that are enjoyable. We strive for balance by working hard for clients while maintaining commitment to our personal life and family. We encourage our clients to find ways to do the same.
Finally, we measure success based on the value we create for our clients:
increasing revenue and profitability,
reinvigorating Practice Leaders' passion and exhilaration,
enhancing teamwork, productivity and accountability
increasing client incomes
reducing stress, exhaustion, and long hours
